1. Suffolk Light Industrial Unit – New Build
JTC Roofing & Cladding Ltd recently completed a new build light industrial unit in Suffolk, showcasing our expertise in delivering high-quality, customised solutions from the ground up. This project highlights our commitment to using locally sourced materials and partnering with trusted suppliers.
Foundations and Steel Framework
The project began with the laying of solid foundations, followed by the erection of a robust steel framework. The steel was sourced from a reputable, family-run business with over 60 years of experience, ensuring the highest quality and durability. The steel was crafted to precise specifications and is UCKA-marked, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards.
Roof and Wall Installation
For the roofing and walls, we used top-grade Composite Tata panels—100mm thick for the roof and 80mm thick for the sides. These panels offer excellent insulation, contributing to the energy efficiency of the building. The colour chosen was Juniper Green, which not only blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment but also provides a modern, professional look. Additionally, roof lights were strategically installed to allow natural light into the unit, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.
Final Touches and Finishing
To complete the project, we installed a 3-phase roller shutter door, facilitating easy access for machinery and large equipment. Stormflo guttering and downpipes were used for effective water management, ensuring the building remains dry and protected from the elements. Galvanised flashings were added for extra durability and a polished finish.
2. Hertfordshire Industrial Unit – Strip and Re-Sheet
JTC Roofing & Cladding Ltd recently completed a full strip and re-sheet project for an industrial unit in Hertfordshire. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver customised refurbishment solutions that combine practicality, performance, and visual appeal, all while respecting the client’s aesthetic requirements.
Strip-Out and Structural Preparation
The project began with a complete strip-out of the existing roofing and wall cladding, taking the structure back to its bare framework. To support the new external finishes, we installed new wooden purlins on the walls to carry the bespoke wooden cladding, and new steel purlins on the roof to support the new composite roof system.
Roof and Wall Installation
For the roof, we installed 40mm grey composite cladding, providing reliable insulation and a sleek, modern finish. While our typical projects use steel or composite panelling for both roof and walls, this client opted for wooden cladding on the sides to align with the visual style of neighbouring buildings, adding a unique architectural touch.
Final Touches and Finishing
The project was finished with brand-new guttering and downpipes, ensuring efficient water drainage and long-term durability. This was a comprehensive overhaul, from structure to finish, completely transforming the building and bringing it in line with the client’s vision.
